Half a million older people in the UK go at least five or six days a week without seeing or speaking to anyone at all. And now we all appreciate a little more what it feels like to be isolated.

b:friend aims to reduce isolation facing older neighbours by pairing them with volunteer befrienders in the community. Popping over for a cuppa and a chat each week, we create intergenerational connections in local areas through 1:1 and group befriending. 

b:friend's goal is to connect with our older neighbours, strengthen community cohesion and create long-term supportive friendships that add wellbeing value to everyone involved.
